RPC Content requires specialized software (plug-ins) to be used within an application. Some software, such as 3ds max, Autodesk VIZ, Revit, Architectural Desktop, Accurender, Bentley MicroStation J and V8, SGI Performer and Informatix Piranesi ship with the Plug-in natively. ArchVision and its partners have also developed several RPC Plug-ins for applications such as Newtek's Lightwave 3D, Maxon's Cinema 4D, Adobe Photoshop®, and ArchVision Composer™. ArchVision has also created an RPC application programming interface, or API, that allows ArchVision Development Partners to integrate RPC support within their own applications.

RPC Plug-in technology is currently supported on Windows-based applications only.

RPC for 3ds max

	Developed by ArchVision, the RPC 3 Plug-in for 3ds max provides you with the ability to place, edit, create, and render all types of RPC content. The new RPC Plug-in with mental ray shader provides full RPC rendering support using the mental ray renderer.

RPC for AccuRender

	Developed by the folks at Robert McNeel & Associates, RPC support is now available to all AccuRender users. RPC support is available to AccuRender users beginning with Build 261. AccuRender 3.x users can now utilize RPC content including 2D, 2.5D, 3D and 3.5D content, within their 3D scenes. Accurender 4.0 users can utilize all (non-licensed) content including 2D, 2.5D, 3D, 3.5D and even 3D Plus objects. Note: 2.5D and 3.5D animated content will only display the first frame in the animated sequence.

RPC for Adobe Photoshop

	ArchVision Viewport provides RPC and SketchUp support for users of Photoshop 5.5 and above (only on Windows, sorry Macintosh users). ArchVision Viewport let you spin around your content, select the perfect view, and then add it to your document as a new layer.

Note: The RPC Plug-in for ADT is for use with Viz Render. RPCs cannot be rendered in ADT (before AutoCAD Architecture 2008) without 3rd party plug-ins such as Accurender.

RPC for Autodesk VIZ

	Autodesk VIZ 2006 includes the RPC 3.x plug-in on the Partner's CD. Autodesk VIZ 2005 includes the RPC 3.x plug-in with the installation bundle. Autodesk VIZ 4 users have no additional plug-in to license to begin using RPC content. The RPC 2.x plug-in ships "in-the-box" with Autodesk VIZ 4 with the option of installing during the VIZ 4 installation process. No downloads or authorization are needed. Sample content resides on the RPC Enabled cd that you will find in the VIZ 4 packaging. Network Rendering is supported without the purchase of additional licenses for scanline rendering. The new RPC Plug-in with Mental Ray shader provides full RPC rendering support using the Mental Ray renderer.

RPC for MicroStation

	Developed by the crack team at Bentley Systems, RPC support is now available to all MicroStation users. Built on ArchVision's RPC 3 technology, support for MicroStation can be found in the Visualization Enhancements release and is free of charge to Bentley SELECT Subscribers. MicroStation users can now place any RPC content, including 2.5D or 3.5D RPC People libraries and 3D+ Automobiles and Parking Lot Cars into their 3D scenes. The Visualization Enhancements release must be downloaded directly from Bentley's website.
