The ArchVision Content Manager (ACM) brings with it numerous new features and services
that are dependent on connections made to ArchVision's servers. The fact that the ACM
connects to ArchVision's servers may concern some of our users, however
the ACM is not spyware and is not intended to compromise user security or privacy in any way.
ArchVision understands that Internet security and privacy are very important to our users
and works to promote both of these.
Please understand that the ACM does not collect any information about you or invade
your privacy, however it does connect to ArchVision's servers from time to time
to perform ACM related tasks.
The ACM will connect to ArchVision servers for the following reasons:
- To retrieve download queues
- To retrieve complimentary content
- To retrive content obtained through subscription channels
Sometimes these ACM features are prevented due to software firewall settings.
In most cases, this can easily be corrected by configuring software firewalls to allow outgoing/incoming ACM
connections.
The process for several of the more popular internet security tools (firewall software packages) has been documented
below.
Configuring Norton Internet Security
Configuring Zone Alarm
BlackICE Defender
